Abstract:Objective: To explore the factors affecting the outcome of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in patients with cardiac arrest. Methods: Clinical data of 171 adult patients who underwent CPR from April 2020 to June 2022 were collected from the emergency departments of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Jinhua Central Hospital, and Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital. Simultaneously, original monitoring data were collected and analyzed retrospectively. According to the actual resuscitation outcomes, patients were divided into the ROSC group and non-ROSC group. Univariate analysis and binary multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed to analyze indicators including general patient information and physiological parameters. Results: A total of 171 CPR cases were collected and enrolled from three clinical trial centers, including 63 cases (36.84%) in the ROSC group and 108 cases (63.16%) in the non-ROSC group. Univariate analysis showed statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of the proportion of heart disease, intubation delay, resuscitation duration, compression frequency, and CPR quality index (CQI) (P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that intubation delay [OR = 1.170, 95% CI (1.011, 1.354), P = 0.035] and resuscitation duration [OR = 1.029, 95% CI (1.009, 1.049), P = 0.004] were risk factors for the outcome of CPR in patients with cardiac arrest, while compression frequency [OR = 0.968, 95% CI (0.945, 0.991), P = 0.007] and CQI [OR = 0.956, 95% CI (0.937, 0.975), P < 0.001] were protective factors. Conclusion: To optimize CPR outcomes, early tracheal intubation should be performed, sufficient compression frequency should be ensured, and attention should be paid to improving the resuscitation strategy to enhance the CQI value in a timely manner.
