Abstract:Objective: To analyze the changes in the treatment of atrial fibrillation patients in cardiology in Jinan, Shandong Province from 2008 to 2019 through a single-center study. Methods: Retrospectively collected clinical baseline data of 1,472 atrial fibrillation patients admitted to a tertiary hospital between 2008 and 2019, including age, left ventricular ejection fraction, brain natriuretic peptide, echocardiography of the left atrium, creatinine, triglycerides, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood glucose, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, hemoglobin, and platelet count. The clinical data, type of atrial fibrillation, prevalence of diabetes, hypertension, and coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation score, drug treatment methods, and surgical treatment methods were statistically analyzed and compared between 2008 and 2019. Results: From 2008 to 2019, there were statistically significant differences in age, brain natriuretic peptide, total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, and platelet count (P < 0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the type of atrial fibrillation, prevalence of hypertension and coronary heart disease, and atrial fibrillation score (P < 0.05). From 2008 to 2019, there were statistically significant differences in the use of anticoagulant drugs, warfarin, novel oral anticoagulants, and aspirin (P < 0.01). From 2008 to 2019, there was a statistically significant difference in the rate of surgical treatment for atrial fibrillation patients in cardiology (P < 0.001). Conclusion: From 2008 to 2019, the onset age of atrial fibrillation patients in cardiology in Jinan, Shandong Province gradually increased, which may be related to the rising prevalence of hypertension and coronary heart disease. Antiplatelet aggregation is the main treatment method for atrial fibrillation patients, but the use of novel oral anticoagulants and catheter ablation technology has been gradually increasing.
