Abstract:Objective:To analyze the development frontiers and research hotspots of ferroptosis in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, and to provide further references for future related research. Methods:The relevant literatures published in CNKI and Web of Scicence(WoS)databases were searched from the establishment of the database to October 30,2022.The literatures were imported into EndNote software for de-duplicate,screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and finally, the included literatures were imported into Excel to analyze the trend of publications.VOSviewer software was used to draw co-occurrence network for core authors and keywords in this field, and CiteSpace software was used to draw keyword clustering, emergence and timeline maps. Results:A total of 204 Chinese literatures and 94 English literatures were included. The rapid increase of ferroptosis publications in the field of traditional Chinese medicine was a period of rapid development in this field. The co-occurrence network of core authors showed that the research team was represented by Song Nan,Zeng Jinsong and Wang Junyan in Chinese literatures;and the research team was represented by ZHU Meiling,ZHANG Ying,WU Qingyuan,ISANI Gloria,XIONG Yongjian in English literatures. The keyword co-occurrence mapping showed that cerebral hemorrhage, stroke, tumors, fibrosis, and atherosclerosis were the main research hotspots. The pathological mechanisms mainly included oxidative stress, lipid peroxidation, cellular autophagy, and apoptosis. In terms of drug research, the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine were represented by dihydroartemisinin, baicalin, artemisinin, resveratrol, and berberine, while traditional Chinese medicine compounds were represented by Naotaifang, and Sijunzi Decoction. The hotspot signaling pathways were nuclear factor E2-related factor 2/glutathione peroxidase 4(Nrf2/GPX4),tumor suppressor(P53),and cystathionine glutamate reverse transporter protein(Xct)signaling pathways. Conclusion:The mechanism of action of Chinese medicine monomers and active ingredients was the current research hotspot.Cerebral hemorrhage, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and the expression of ferroptosis related proteins were the diseases and pathological mechanisms that were the focus of attention in recent years, which could provide new ideas and methods for the treatment of related diseases and experimental research with traditional Chinese medicine.
