Abstract:Objective: To study the clinical application of Bosniak classification in the diagnosis of cystic renal mass(CRM)during the MSCT (multi-slice computed tomography). Methods: 39 patients of being pathologically confirmed with CRM from November 2014 to October 2017 in our hospital were selected. All the patients received the MSCT examination and Bosniak classification. The correlation of Bosniak classification with pathological results was analyzed. Results: Only 2 cases received the MSCT plain scan; 37 cases received the MSCT plain scan and enhancement scan. 21 cases occurred in the left kidney and 18 cases occurred in the right kidney. The minimum diameter of the lesions was 1. 2 × 1. 6 cm; the maximum diameter was 7. 6 × 8. 5 cm. The CT value was-2 ~ 62 HU. During the plain scan, there were 33 low density cases, 4 high density cases and 2 mixed density cases. During the enhancement scan, 32 had different degrees of enhancements. According to the Bosniak classification, there were 4 classification Ⅰ cases, 9 classification Ⅱ cases, 5 classification ⅡFcases, 12 classification Ⅲ cases and 9 classification Ⅳ cases. The pathologically benign rate in patients with Bosniak classification Ⅰ and Ⅱ was significantly higher than malignant rate; the pathologically malignant rate in patients with Bosniak classification Ⅳ was significantly higher than benign rate (P < 0. 05); the malignant and benign rate in patients with Bosniak classification ⅡF and Ⅲ was not significantly different (P > 0. 05); the higher the Bosniak classifications were, the higher the pathologically malignant rate was. Conclusion: Conclusion: The Bosniak classification plays a guiding role in the diagnosis of CRM, but the CRM patients with Bosniak classification ⅡF and Ⅲ can' t be effectively detected.
