Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of balanced release treatment and nimodipine sustained release tablets in the treat-ment of primary vascular headache. Methods Eighty patients with primary vascular headache were randomly divided into two groups:control group ( n=40) treated with nimodipine sustained release tablets, and treatment group ( n=40) treated with balanced release treatment and nimodipine sustained release tablets. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores, the number of pain episodes, the duration of pain and the curative effect were compared between two groups before and after treatment. Results The VAS scores de-creased significantly in treatment group after the first week of treatment ( P<0.05),and reached the stable states after the first month of treatment. The VAS scores, the duration of pain and the number of headache attacks in two groups were significantly improved com-pared with the previous month, which were significantly better in treatment group than that in control group ( P<0.05). After the sec-ond month of treatment, the clinical efficacy in treatment group was significantly better than that in control group ( P<0.05). Conclu-sion Balance release treatment and nimodipine sustained release tablets can relieve headache, reduce the number of headache at-tacks,shorten the duration and improve the curative effect in patients with primary vascular headache.
