Clinical Observation on Zhongfeng Jiuxian Decoction in the Treatment of Progressive Ischemic Stroke

Abstract：Objective To study the clinical curative effect of Zhongfeng Jiuxian decoction (ZJD) in the treatment of progressive ischemic stroke.Methods Eighty patients with progressive cerebral infarction were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n =40) treated with routine treatment,and treatment group (n =40) treated with ZJD in the basis of routine treatment.The scores of Na tional Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS),phlegm-stasis syndrome were evaluated at the 1st,7th,14th days after disease progression.The levels of serum hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and D-dimer were measured.Results There was significant difference in the scores of NIHSS and phlegm-stasis syndrome,and the levels of serum hs-CRP and D-dimer between two groups at the 7th,14th days after disease progression (P ＜0.05 or P ＜0.01).The total clinical effective rate was significantly higher in treatment group than that in control group (63.16％ vs 39.47％,P ＜0.05).Conclusion ZJD can improve the scores of NIHSS and phlegm-stasis syndrome,reduce the levels of serum hs-CRP and D-dimer,and improve clinical efficacy in patients with progressive cerebral infarction.
