Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of warm acupuncture-moxibustion and Bobath rehabilitation on the gait stability in patients with stroke. Methods Sixty-seven patients with stroke were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n =34) treated with routine treatment and Bobath rehabilitation, and treatment group (n =33) treated with warm acupuncture-moxibustion,routine treatment and Bobath rehabilitation for 12 weeks.Ankle varus angle,Holden walking classification and Berg balance scale score were evaluated before and after 12 weeks of treatment. Results After treatment, ankle varus angle were decreased in two groups (P <0.05 or P <0.01).Holden walking classification and Berg balance scale scores were significantly increased in two groups (P <0.05 or P <0.01).The ankle varus angle in treatment group was lower than that in control group (P <0.01).Holden walking classification and Berg balance scale scores in treatment group were higher than that in control group (P <0.01).Conclusion Warm acupuncture-moxibustion and Bobath rehabilitation can significantly improve the gait stability in patients with stroke, which is better than that of Bobath rehabilitation.
