The Influence of Pinggan Huazhuo Yuzu Decoction on Blood Lipid in Hypertension Patients

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of Pinggan Huazhuo Yuzu decoction(PHYD)on blood lipid in patients with essential hy-pertension(EH).Methods Sixty patients with EH and syndrome of hyperactivity of liver-fire and phlegm-turbid from Jinshan Branch of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital were randomly divided into two groups:control group treated with levamlodipine besylate and simvastatin,and treatment group treated with levamlodipine besylate,simvastatin and PHYD for 6 months.Blood pressure and blood lipid were observed before and after treatment.Results The levels of total cholesterol (TC),triglycerides (TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)were decreased in two groups after treatment while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) levels were increased(P<0.05).The levels of TC,TG,LDL-C were lower in treatment group than that in control group(P<0.05). The total clinical effective rate was higher in treatment group than that in control group(76.67% vs 66.67%,P<0.05).Conclusion PHYD can reduce blood pressure and regulate blood lipid in patients with EH.
