Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of levocarnitine (LC) and atorvastatin calcium (AC) on cardiac function, serum C-reactionprotein (CRP),interieukin (IL)-6,and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF).Methods One hundreds and forty-four patients with CHF in our hospital from June 2015 to June 2017 were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n =72) treated with AC,and treatment group (n =72) treated with AC and LC for 4 weeks. The clinical effect, the changes of cardiac function and serum CRP,IL-6,TNF-α levels were observed before and after treatment,as well as adverse reaction were observed. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the total clinical effective rate was significantly higher in treatment group than that in control group (91.7% vs 69.0%,P <0.01).Left vertricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD)/left vertricular end systolic diameter (LVESD),and serum CRP,IL-6,TNF-α levels decreased while left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) increased in two groups after treatment (P <0.01).The cardiac function was better in treatment group than that in control group (P < 0.01).There was no difference in the adverse reaction rate between treatment group and control group (4.2% vs 5.6%,P >0.05).Conclusion LC and AC can relieve the symptoms and signs and improve the cardiac function effectively in patients with CHF.It may be related to the improvement of serum CRP,IL-6 and TNF-α levels in patients.
