Abstract:Objective To systematically review the safety and efficacy of Xuezhikang as a complementary treatment for chronic heart failure (CHF).Methods Chinese academic journals full-text database,Chinese biomedical literature databases, knowledge network,Wanfang data,China published October,Whipple database were retrieved for papers on randomized control trials of treating CHF patient by routine western medical treatment plus Xuezhikang from 2000 to 2015.The quality of inclusive literatures was assessed by methods from Cochrane Handbook.Valid date were extracted and analyzed by eta-analysis using RevMan 5.0 software. Results Totally 14 trials and 1 137 patient in line with standard were included. The result of meta-analysis showed compared with the routine, western medical treatment group, additional use of Xuezhikang could improve the clinical effect [RR =3.04,95% CI (1.81,5.10),P <0.000 1],increased left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) [WMD =6.96,95% CI (5.91,8.02),P < 0.000 01.WMD =5.58,95% CI (3.76,7.39),P <0.000 01] of CHF patient:decreased Left ventricular end diastolic diameter [WMD=-2.80,95% CI (-3.71,-1.88),P <0.000 01],decreased serum BNP level [WMD=-252.25,95% CI (-3.18.80,-185.70),P <0.000 01].There was no significant difference in the obvious adverse reaction and liver or kidney damage between two groups (P >0.05).Conclusion Compared with the western medical treatment, additional use of Xuezhikang was safe and could further improve clinical efficacy. However, larger and high-quality clinical trial are necessary for further evidence.
