Clinical Observation on Yiqi Jianpi Decoction Combining with Acupuncture in the Treatment of Constipation in Parkinson's Disease Patients with Qi Deficiency Syndrome

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Yiqi Jianpi decoction (YJD) and acupuncture in the treatment of constipation in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and qi deficiency syndrome.Methods Seventy PD patients with constipation and qi deficiency syndrome were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n =34) treated with lactulose,and treatment group (n =36) treated with YJD and acupuncture for 8 weeks.The clinical efficacy and the scores of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptom were observed.Results After 8 weeks of treatment,the total effective rate after two months was 77.78% in treatment group and 55.88% in control group (P <0.05).The scores of TCM symptom were decreased in two groups after 8 weeks of treatment (P <0.05 or P <0.01).The scores of TCM symptom were decreased in two groups after 2 months of treatment (P <0.05 or P <0.01).Conclusion YJD and acupuncture has better short-term and long-term clinical efficacy in PD patients with constipation and qi deficiency syndrome.
