Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of the scalp acupuncture and low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on the integrity of corticospinal tract (CSL) microstructure in hemiplegic patients with stroke by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI).Mothods Thirty hemiplegic patients with stroke were randomly divided into group A treated with scalp acupuncture group, group B treated with low-frequency rTMS,group C treated with scalp acupuncture and low-frequency rTMS for 2 weeks. The CSL fractional anisotropy (FA) of internal capsule hind legs and the clinical efficacy was evaluated after treatment. Results After treat ment,FA value of CSL lesions side and scores of Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA),Modified Barthel Index (MBI) improved in 3 group, which were increased obviously in group C.Conclusion The scalp acupuncture and low frequency rTMS can improve the integrity of CSL microstructure, the motor function and daily living ability in hemiplegic patients with stroke.
