Clinical Observation on Valsartan-amlodipine Tablets in the Treatment Elderly Hypertensive Patients

Abstract：Objective To explore the effects of valsartan-amlodipine tablets on the blood pressure levels,adverse reaction,and prognosis in elderly hypertensive patients.Methods Eighty elderly hypertensive patients in our hospital from January 2014 to January 2016 were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n =40) treated with routine western medicine treatment,and treatment group (n =40) treated with valsartan-amlodipine tablets in the basis of routine western medicine treatment.The blood pressure levels,adverse reactions and the change of quality of life were observed.Result After treatment,the diastolic blood pressure and systolic blood pressure improved in treatment group,which was better than that in control group (P ＜0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in treatment group was lower than that in control group (P ＜0.05).The scores of quality of life in treatment group were better than that in control group (P ＜0.05).The clinical effective rate in treatment group was higher than that in control group (P ＜0.05).Conclusion Valsartan-amlodipine tablets can effectively improve the blood pressure levels with less adverse reaction,help to improve the prognosis in elderly hypertensive patients.
