Clinical Observation on Tripterygium Wilfordii and Telmisartan in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Chronic Glomerulonephritis Complicated with Hypertension

Abstract：Objective To study the effect of Tripterygium wilfordii and telmisartan in the treatment of elderly patients with chronic glomerulonephritis complicated with hypertension.Methods Eighty-four patients with chronic glomerulon epnritis and hypertension in our hospital from March 2015 to May 2016 were selected and randomly divided into two groups:control group treated with valsartan,and treatment group treated with Tripterygium wilfordii and telmisartan.The blood pressure,renal function [urea nitrogen (BUN),serum creatinine (SCr),24 h urinary protein,creatinine clearance rate (Ccr)],tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6),high sensitive C reaction protein (hs-CRP) levels were observed.Results The total clinical effective rate was 95.24％ in treatment group,which was significantly higher than that in control group (76.19％,P ＜0.05).After treatment,the blood pressure decreased significantly in two groups,and the levels of systolic blood pressure(SBP) and diastolic pressure (DBP) in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group(P ＜0.05).The levels of BUN,SCr,24 h urinary protein decreased in two groups after treatment,which was lower in treatment group than those in control group(P ＜ 0.05).The creatinine clearance rate(Ccr) was significantly higher in treatment group than the control group(P ＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of TNF-α,IL-6 and hs-CRP were significantly lower in two groups (P ＜0.05),which was lower in treatment group than those in control group(P ＜0.05).Conclusion Tripterygium wilfordii and telmisartan can improve renal function in elderly patients with chronic glomerulonephritis complicated with hypertension.
