Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Bailemian capsule (BLMC) and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in treatment of Parkinson's disease patients with insomnia. Methods Sixty-two Parkinson's disease patients with insomnia were collected and randomly divided into two groups:control group (n =31) treated with placebo plus rTMS,and treatment group (n =31) treated with BLMC plus rTMS for 14 days.Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and polysomnography (PSG) related indicators,Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) were observed before and after treatment. Results After treatment,PSQI decreased in treatment group, and sleep latency, and awakening time of multi-channel PSG were shortened, the number of awakenings decreased(P <0.05 or P <0.01).There was no significant difference in UPDRS scores the between two groups(P >0.05).Conclusion BLMC and rTMS can improve the sleep quality of insomnia patients with Parkinson's disease, effectively shorten the sleep latency time, reduce the number of awakening and awakening time.
