The Efficacy of Bushen Yixin Tablets with Western Medicine for the Treatment of Hypertension: Meta Analysis and Systematic Review

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Bushen Yixin tablets (BYT) with western medicine for the treatment of hypertension.Methods The randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for the clinical efficacy of BYT and western medicine for hypertension were collected.The quality of the retrieved original study was evaluated according to the meta-analysis requirements.Meta-analysis of eligible studies was performed using RevMan 5.3.The clinical efficacy of BYT and western medicine for hypertension was evaluated.Results Totally 9 studies including 691 cases were analyzed.Compared with western medicine,BYr and western medicine had lower systolic pressure [SMD=-0.31,95％ CI (-0.46,-0.15),Z =3.98,P ＜0.000 1],and lower diastolic blood pressure [SMD=-0.18,95％ CI (-0.33,-0.03),Z =2.32,P =0.02].Conclusion The clinical efficacy of BYT and western medicine for hypertension is better than that of western medicine.
