Shenshao Tablets/capsules in the Treatment of Coronary Heart Disease:a Meta-analysis of Clinical Randomized Controlled Trials

Abstract：Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shenshao tablets/capsules in the treatment of angina pectoris of coronary heart disease (CHD).Methods Retrieved from Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase,Wiley,Ovid,SCI,Clinical Trials.gov,CNKI,VIP,CBM,and Wanfang database,the clinical randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about the efficacy of Shenshao tablets/capsules in the treatment of angina pectoris of CHD were collected.Meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.2 software after data extraction and quality evaluation by Cochrane Risk of Bias tool.Results In this review,twelve RCTs were enrolled,involving 1 915 patients with angina pectoris of CHD based on the selection criteria.Results of meta-analysis showed that the total effective rate of angina pectoris improvement (OR=2.90,95％ CI 2.16～3.90,P<0.000 01),and electrocardiogram improvement (OR=2.10,95％ CI1.67～2.64,P<0.000 01) in Shenshao tablets/capsules group were significantly higher than that in control group.Conclusion Shenshao tablets/capsules can improve the clinical efficacy and the symptoms of angina in patients with angina pectoris of CHD.
