Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of serum uric acid (SUA) on vascular endothelial function in patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP),and to analyze the correlation. Methods One hundred and twenty-nine patients with UAP were divided into 2 groups:the normal SUA group (n=78) and high SUA group (n=51).The levels of plasma nitrogen oxide (NO),endothelin (ET) and myeloperoxidase (MPO) were mensurated, respectively. The correlation between the level of BUA and vascular endothelial function were analyzed by statistical methods. Results There was no significant difference in parameters of gender, age, history of smoking, body mass index (BMI),history of coronary heart disease, history of diabetes and heart rate between high SUA group and normal SUA group (P>0.05).Compared with the patients with normal SUA,the levels of ET,MPO in patients with high SUA significantly increased and the levels of serum NO in patients with high SUA was significantly decreased (P<0.05).The SUA level was negatively correlated with level of NO (r=-0.647,P<0.05) and positively correlated with levels of MPO and ET (r=0.763,0.529,P<0.05) in patients with UAP.Conclusion The patients with high SUA have the decreased vascular endothelial function compared with the normal SUA group, and SUA could be taken as predictive index for injured vascular endothelial function.
