Clinical Observation on Yiqi Huazhuo Capsules in the Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus Complicated with Coronary Heart Disease

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Yiqi Huazhuo capsules (YHC) in the treatment of diabetes mellitus (DM) complicated with coronary heart disease (CHD).Methods Seventy diabetic patients who met the criteria for entry with coronary heart disease were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n=35) treated with routine treatment,and treatment group (n=35) treated with YHC and routine treatment 3 courses (1 months for 1 courses of treatment).Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms,electrocardiogram (ECG),fasting blood glucose (FBG),glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and insulin resistance index (IRI) were observed.Results The total clinical effective rate in treatment group was significantly higher than that in control group (88.6% vs 65.7%,P<0.05).The total effective rate of TCM symptoms in treatment group was significantly higher than that in control group (91.4% vs 65.7%,P<0.05).After treatment,FBG,HbA1c,and IRI in two groups were significantly decreased,which was better in treatment group than that in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion YHC can improve the clinical syndrome,TCM symptoms,FBG,HbA1c,and IRI in patients with DM complicated with CHD.
