Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Xinmailong injection (XMLI) in the treatment of elderly diabetic patients with chronic heart failure (CHF).Methods Seventy-eight elderly diabetic patients with CHF were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n=39) treated with routine treatment, and treatment group (n=39) treated with routine treatment and XMLI for 10 days. The clinical effect of the two groups after treatment were observed. The changes of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and plasma brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels after treatment were compared between the two groups. The adverse reactions were observed. Results After treatment, the clinical efficacy in treatment group was better than that in control group (P<0.05).LVEF in treatment group was significantly higher in treatment group than that in control group while BNP level was significantly lower in treatment group than that in control group (P<0.05).There was no serious adverse reactions occurred in two groups. Conclusion XMLI can decrease cardiac load and improve heart function in elderly diabetic patients with CHF.
