Efficacy and Safety of Gelan Xinning Soft Capsules in the Treatment of Coronary Heart Disease:a Meta-analysis

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the clinical curative effect and safety of Gelan Xinning soft capsules (GXSC) in the treatment of coronary heart disease (CHD) with meta-analysis.Methods CNKI,VIP,CBM,WanFang,PubMed and Cochrane Library were electronically searched to collect qualified researches for evaluating.The data was analysed by the heterogeneity test,meta analysis and sensitivity analysis,et.Results Fifteen randomized controlled trials (RCTs)involving 1 557 patients with poor general quality were included.Results of meta-analyses showed that compared with the routine treatment,GXSC and routine treatment could improve the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome [OR=2.28,95% CI (1.03 to 5.04),P=0.04],the angina symptoms [OR=2.12,95%CI (1.45 to 3.11),P=0.000 1],electrocardiogram efficacy [OR=2.16,95% CI (1.24 to 3.78),P=0.007],and decrease the level of endothelin (P<0.000 1),increase the level of nitric oxide (P=0.03),decrease the level of triglyceride (P<0.000 01),total cholesterol (P=0.04),low densith lipoprotein (P=0.01),increase the level of high density lipoprotein (P=0.000 2).Six patients appeared to have decreased or stable blood pressure while 7 patients had elevated blood glucose.None of the patients involved was found obvious abnormal in liver and kidney function.Conclusion GXSC is effective and safe in the treatment of CHD.However rigorously designed RCTs with large sample are still needed to support its clinical effectiveness.
