Clinical Efficacy of Xuanyun No.1 Formula in the Treatment of 48 Patients with Essential Hypertension and Phlegm dampness Syn-drome

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Xuanyun No.1 prescription (XYP)in the treatment of essential hyperten-sion (EH).Methods Ninety six patients with EH from 2014 January to 2015 June in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups:control group(n=48)treated with routine treatment plus levamlodipine besylate tablets,and treatment group(n=48)trea-ted with routine treatment plus levamlodipine besylate tablets and XYP for 4 weeks.The clinical effect,antihypertensive effect and uric acid(UA)level were observed.Results The clinical effect,antihypertensive effect were better in treatment group than that in control group (P=0.001,P=0.041).After treatment,the UA levels were decreased in two groups(P<0.001),which was lower in treat-ment group than that in control group(P<0.01).Conclusion XYP has significant clinical effects in patients with EH and phlegm dampness syndrome,which may be related to the decrease of UA.
