Clinical Study on Scalp Acupuncture and Tianma Gegen Granules in the Treatment of Posterior Circulation Ischemia Vertigo

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect of scalp acupuncture and Tianma Gegen granule (TGG)in the treatment of poste-rior circulation ischemic vertigo (PCIV).Methods Eighty patients with PCIV and disturbing up of wind and yang syndrome were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n=40)treated with routine treatment(),and treatment group(n=40)treated with routine treatment plus scalp acupuncture and TGG for 30 days.The syndrome score of the two groups were observed.The left and right vertebral artery and basilar artery peak systolic velocity were observed by transcranial doppler (TCD).Results The total effec-tive rate of treatment group was 87.5%,which was better than that of the control group 60%(P<0.05).After treatment,the syndrome scores were reduced in two groups.The left and right vertebral artery and basilar artery systolic velocity peak were improved in two groups compared with before treatment(P<0.05),which in treatment group was better than that in control group (P<0.05).Conclu-sion Scalp acupuncture and TGG can improve the clinical symptoms and the cerebral blood flow in patients with PCIV.
