Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of milrinone on patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)complicat-ed with pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH).Methods Sixty patients with COPD complicated with PAH were selected and ran-domly divided into two groups:control group(n=30)treated with routine treatment, and treatment group(n=30)treated with milri-none on basis of routine treatment. The changes of mean pulmonary arterial pressure(PAPm),systolic pulmonary artery pressure (PAPs),6 minute walking distance, galectin 3 and N terminal pro B type natriuretic peptide (NT pro BNP)were compared between two groups. Results The PAPm,PAPs levels after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment in each group(P<0.05).But those in milrinone group decreased more obviously(P<0.05).The galectin 3 and NT pro BNP after treat-ment were significantly decreased than those before treatment in each group(P<0.05),but those in milrinone group raised more ob-viously(P<0.05).Conclusion Milrinone can reduce PAPm,PAPs,galactin 3 and NT pro BNP,and improve lung function in pa-tients with COPD complicated with PAH.
