Characteristic Appearance of Coronary Heart Disease and Carotid Atherosclerosis with Phlegm and Blood Stasis Syndrome Based on the Function and Structure of Vascular

Abstract：Objective To explore the characteristics of coronary heart disease(CHD)and carotid atherosclerosis(CAS)with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome by comparing related indexes.Methods A total of 77 patients with CHD and CAS were divided into the phlegm blood stasis syndrome group(n=47)and non phlegm blood stasis syndrome group(n=30).Carotid intima media thickness (IMT),carotid artery plaque area,the degree of plaque,pulse wave conduction velocity (PWV),ankle brachial index (ABI),and blood lipids were observed for al the patients in the trial.Results There was no significant difference in age,sex,body mass index,carotid artery plaque area,the degree of plaque,ABI,TG and very low density lipoprotein cholesterol(VLDL C)be-tween these two types(P>0.05). PWV,IMT,TC and LDL C in patients with phlegm blood stasis syndrome were higher than pa-tients with non phlegm blood stasis syndrome.Conclusion The function and structure of vascular of phlegm blood stasis syn-drome type patients are worse than the non phlegm blood stasis syndrome type of coronary heart disease and carotid atheroscle-rosis. PWV,IMT,TC and LDL C could be used as distinction indexes of phlegm and blood stasis syndrome.
