Effectiveness of Zhenwu Decoction and Modern Medicine in the Treatment of Chronic Heart Failure：A Meta Analysis

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of Zhenwu decoction (ZWD)and Modern medicine in the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF).Methods Systematic review and meta analysis of studies were involving randomized control ed trials about ZWD in the treatment of chronic heart failure .CNKI,VIP database,Wanfang database,and PubMed articles were searched up until June 10,2015.Review Manger 5.3 software was used for Meta analysis of the literatures. Results 10 randomized control ed trials with a total of 723 subjects were involved,al of which were of low quality.Meta analysis showed that ZWD and western medicine in the treatment of chronic heart failure can improve the clinical efficacy [RR=3.18,95% CI (1.99,508),P<0.000 01],better TCM syndrome [RR=3.65,95% CI (2.37,5.60),P<0.000 01],increase left ventricular ejection fraction [WMD=5.28,95% CI (4.10, 6.47),P<0.000 01],increase 6 min walking distance[WMD=53.64,95% CI (32.07,75.22),P<0.000 01],and reduce rehos-pitalization rate[RR=0.27,95% CI (0.13,0.55),P<0.000 01].Conclusion The available clinical evidence indicates that ZWD and western medicine can improve the therapeutic efficacy of chronic heart failure.Because of the low quality of the literatures,the conclusions of this study needed to be further confirmed by rigorous designed high quality clinical trials with a reasonable sample.
