Abstract:Objective To detect the serum levels of thioredoxin interacting protein(TXNIP)in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD),and to analysis clinical value in CHD.Methods Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)was used to detect the serum TXNIP in 167 patients with CHD and 127 healthy controls. Results The serum TXNIP concentration in CHD was significantly higher than in healthy controls(417.78± 55.87 vs 231.67± 71.71,P=0.000 ).TXNIP was associated positively with malondialdehyde (MDA) (r=0.257,P=0.006),high sensitive C reactive protein(hs CRP)(r=0.178,P=0.018),tumor necrosis factor α(TNF α)(r=0.245, P=0.005),HOMA IR(r=0.214,P=0.001),but negatively with high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL C)(r= 0.184,P=0.027),glutathione (GSH)(r= 0.358,P=0.000).The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for CHD diagnosis was estimated to be 0.957(0.933,0.980).Conclusion TXNIP is closely related to oxidative stress, inflammation and insulin resistance in CHD.It is useful for disease surveil ance and diagnosis of CHD by serum TXNIP.
