Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of fluoxetine and Xuesaitong injection (XSTI)on cerebral blood flow in patients with post stroke depression(PSD).Methods Ninety patients with PSD were randomly divided into two groups:control group(n=45)treated with fluoxetine, and treatment group(n=45)treated with fluoxetine and XSTI for 8 weeks. The clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were evaluated. The scores of Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS),Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE)and blood perfusion related indexes were determined before and after the treatment. Results Total ef-fective rate was 93.33% in treatment group, which was significantly higher than that in control group (77.78%,P<0.05).Compared with those before the treatment, the scores of HAMD,NIHSS scores and mean transit time (MTT)were decreased significantly in two groups after 8 weeks of treatment, while MMSE scores, cerebral blood flow (CBF)and cerebral blood volume (CBV)were increased significantly (P<0.05).Above indexes in treatment group after 8 weeks of treatment were significantly better than that in control group (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse drug reactions between two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Fluoxetine and XSTI can improve patients’depressive symptoms significantly, promote recovery of neurological impair-ment and cognitive function, and can improve blood perfusion in lesions area significantly in patients with PSD.
