Abstract:Objective To study the prognostic value of high sensitivity C reactive protein (hs CRP),brain natriuretic peptide (BNP)and uric acid (UA)for cardiac events in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM).Methods One hundred and five patients with DCM were hospitalized in the Department of Cardiology of Xuzhou Central Hospital from May 2013 to October 2013.Al patients underwent New York Heart Association (NYHA)cardiac functional grading test for hs CRP,BNP,and UA levels at admission and discharge.Al enrol ed patients received six month’s fol ow up,of which 58 patients without heart failure deterioration (group G1) and 47 patients with a recurrence of heart failure or heart failure exacerbation (group G2).Results The BNP level in patients with DCM was correlated with the hs CRP level (r=0.298,P<0.05)and the UA level(r=0.414,P<0.05).In addition, the NYHA cardiac functional grading was correlated with the BNP(r=0.618,P<0.05)and the UA level(r=0.423,P<0.05).The area under the curve (AUC)of the ROC value of UA,BNP,hs CRP predicting the bad prognosis of patients with DCM are 0.858,0.890,0.783, respectively. When the UA value is 232.89μmol/L,the sensitivity value was 88%,and the specificity value was 59%.Conclusion The hs CRP,UA,BNP value in DCM patients is closely related.Three prognostic value comparison showed that BNP is better than UA,and the former two are better than that of Hs CRP.The blood UA is a convenient and economical index.
