Clinical Observation on Xinshen Wenyang Decoction and Western Medicine in the Treatment of Chronic Heart Failure

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of Xinshen Wenyang decoction(XWD)and western medicine in the treatment of chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods One hundred and eight patients with CHF and divided into two groups:control group(n=54)treated with western medicine routine treatment,and treatment group(n=54)treated with routine treatment plus XWD for one months.The myocardial function score,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome integral,left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF),left ventric-ular end diastolic dimension (LVED),cardiac output (CO),stroke volume (SV),insulin like growth factor 1 (IGF 1),cTnT,N terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide(N BNP),homocysteine(Hcy)and adverse reactions were observed.Results After treat-ment,the myocardial function integral,TCM syndrome score,LVEF,LVEDd,SV,IGF 1,cTnT,N BNP,Hcy were improved in two groups,which in treatment group was significantly better than that in control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate in treatment group (92.59%)was significantly higher than that in the control group (75.93%,P<0.05).No obvious adverse reactions was found during the treatment in two groups.Conclusion XWD and western medicine is safe and effective in CHF.
