Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between diastolic blood pressure and hemoglobin, hematocrit in very elderly hy-pertensive patients. Methods Two hundreds and fifty nine very elderly hypertensive patients were selected and asked about the history, routine blood test, biochemical tests and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, then were divided accordance with the 24 hour average diastolic pressure level:group 1 with levels of ≥80 mmHg,group 2 set of 70 to 79 mmHg,group 3 set of 60 to 69 mm-Hg,group 4 set of 50 to 59 mmHg,group 5 set of<50 mmHg.The levels of hemoglobin, hematocrit of different dynamic diastolic blood pressure were compared. Results The level of hemoglobin was (137.53±16.46)g/L in group 1,(133.37±15.08)g/L in group 2,(128.39± 17.91)g/L in group 3,(120.61± 16.03)g/L in group 4,(120.38± 13.38)g/L in group 5.The level of hematocrit was (64.65± 95.83)% in group 1,(40.06± 3.86)% in group 2,(38.32± 5.18)g/L in group 3,(36.08± 4.68)g/L in group 4,(36.10± 3.24)g/L in group 5.Correla-tion analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between hemoglobin(P=0.000),hematocrit(P=0.01)and different levels of diastolic blood pressure in very elderly hypertensive patients. Conclusion There is a significant correlation between hemoglobin, hematocrit and different levels of diastolic blood pressure in very elderly hypertensive patients, the level of hemoglobin, hematocrit in-creased notablely with levels of diastolic blood pressure.Observation of hemoglobin and hematocrit has important reference value in clinical diagnosis and treatment.
