Abstract:Objective To study the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndromes distribution and its relationship with blood lipid levels in patients with hyperlipidemia syndrome in Xinjiang region, and to provide scientific basis for treatment of hy-perlipemia.Methods Questionnaire on TCM syndrome types and laboratory indexes were formulated.Statistical analysis was conduc-ted.Results Total of 1 504 Xinjiang Han,Uygur and Kazak patients with hyperlipidemia were enrol ed,of which 551 cases(36.6%)in yin deficiency syndrome group,362 cases(24.1%)in wet resistance syndrome group,299 cases(19.9%)in damp heat syn-drome group;173 cases(11.5%)in yang deficiency syndrome group,119 cases (7.9%)in blood stasis syndrome group. There was no significant difference in the levels of total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL C)in Xinjiang Han,Uygur and Kazak patients with yin deficiency syndrome, wet resist-ance syndrome, damp heat syndrome, yang deficiency syndrome, blood stasis syndrome(P>0.05).Conclusion The main syn-drome in patients with hyperlipidemia was yin deficiency syndrome, fol owed by wet resistance syndrome. There was no significant difference in the levels of TC,TG,HDL C,LDL C among Xinjiang Han,Uygur and Kazak patients with yin deficiency syndrome in hyperlipidemia patients with different syndrome types.
