Effects of Yaoyi Shenhuo Moxibustion on Inflammatory Cytokines in Patients with Ischemic Stroke

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of Yaoyi Shenhuo moxibustion(YSM)on inflammatory cytokines in patients with ischemic stroke.Methods Forty patients with ischemic stroke were randomly divided into two groups:The control group(n=20)treated with routine treatment plus comprehensive rehabilitation,and the treatment group(n=20)treated with YSM plus comprehensive rehabili-tation in the basis of routine treatment.The levels of serum interleukin 1 (IL 1),interleukin 6 (IL 6),tumor necrosis factor (TNF α) were tested before and after treatment.The scores of National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)and activities of daily living (ADL)were evaluated before and after treatment.Results The total clinical effective rate was 95% in treatment group,which was significantly higher than that in control group(85%,P<0.05).The scores of NIHSS and ADL were improved after treatment,which were better than that in control group(P<0.05).The levels of serum IL 1,IL 6 and TNF αwere decreased after treatment,which were lower than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion YSM can improve limb dysfunction and inhibition the inflammation in is-chemic stroke.
