Effects of Atorvastatin Calcium on Inflammatory Factors and Blood Lipid Level in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of atorvastatin calcium on inflammatory factors and blood lipid levels in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Methods Eighty nine patients with ACS after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)were randomly divided into two groups:The control group treated with routine treatment, and the treatment group treated with routine treatment plus atorvastatin calcium. The levels of serum total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL C)were observed before and after treatment. The concentration of serum high sensitivity C reactive protein (hs CRP)was detected before treatment and 7 days,8 weeks after PCI.Results After treatment, the levels of serum TC and LDL C reduced in treatment group, which was lower than that in control group(P<0.05).The concentrations of ser-um hs CRP in treatment group were decreased at 7 days,8 weeks after PCI(P<0.05),which was lower than that in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Atorvastatin calcium can reduce serum TC,LDL C levels and inhibit the inflammatory cytokine hs CRP in patients with ACS.
