Relationship between Serum MMP 9,hsCRP,IL 6 and the Carotid Atherosclerosis Plaque in Patients Acute Cerebral Infarction

Abstract：Objective To investigate the relationship between serum matrix metal oproteinases 9 (MMP 9)and high sensitivity C reactive protein (hsCRP),interleukin 6 (IL 6)and carotid atherosclerosis (CAS)patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI).Methods One hundred and twelve patients with ACI,according to the results of carotid artery Doppler ultrasound,were divided into CAS soft plaque group(n=31),hard plaque group (n=53)and no plaque group (n=28).Thirty healthy individuals were as controls.The levels of serum MMP 9,hsCRP and IL 6 were detected by linked immunosorbent method.Results The levels of serum MMP 9,hsCRP,IL 6 in ACI groups were higher than that in control group(P<0.01).The levels of serum MMP 9,hsCRP,IL 6 in CAS soft plaque group were higher than that in hard plaque group (n=53)and no plaque group(P<0.05).Conclusion MMP 9, hsCRP,IL 6 are closely related to the formation and stability of the CAS in patients with ACI,They may be clinical marker of soft un-stable plaque,and to provide experimental basis for plaque stability evaluation,treatment monitoring and intervention.
