Clinical Observation on Post Stroke Depression Treated By Zhenjing Dingzhi Mixture

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effects of Zhenjing Dingzhi mixture(ZDM)in treatment of post stroke depression(PSD). Methods Eighty patients with PSD were randomly divided into two groups:The control group(n=40)treated with routine treatment plus fluoxetine,and the treatment group(n=40)treated with routine treatment plus ZDM for 12 weeks.The degree of depression was evaluated by Zung Self rating Depression Scale (SDS),Hamiltion Depression Rating Scale (HAMD),activities of daily living (ADL).The adverse reaction was observed by Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS).Results The scores of Zung rating scale shows that total effective rate was 80% in treatment group,70.3% in control group after 12 weeks treatment.The scores of HAMD rat-ing scale showed that total effective rate was 70% in treatment group,75.7% in control group after 12 weeks treatment.There was no significant difference between two groups(P>0.05).The scores of ADL rating scale showed that curative effect in treatment group was better than that in control group(P<0.05).The adverse reactions in treatment group was lower than that in control group(P<0.01).Conclusion ZDM can al eviate the symptoms of depression in patients with PSD,with fewer adverse reactions as wel .
