Comparisive Study of the Serum Lipid Levels in Healthy Individuals with Different Traditional Chinese Medical Constitutions

Abstract：Objective To explore the serum lipid levels in healthy individuals with different traditional Chinese medical(TCM)constitu-tions.Methods Taking the volunteers in the South Area of Guang’anmen Hospital from July 2012 to July 2013 as the blood samples, and detecting the serum levels of cholesterol(TC),triglyceride (TG),high density lipoprotein(HDL C)and low density lipoprotein (LDL C)in healthy individuals with nine kinds of TCM constitutions,to screen 312 healthy individuals as the objects of research.Results The serum level of TC in healthy individuals with various TCM constitutions was as fol ows yin deficiency,blood stasis,qi qualita-tive,gentleness,humid mass,qi deficiency,phlegm,yang quality ,special intrinsic quality in ascending order.The serum level of TG in healthy individuals was as fol ows yin deficiency,yang quality,blood stasis,peaceful qualitative,phlegm,qi quality,humid mass,qi de-ficiency,special intrinsic quality in ascending order.The serum level of HDL C in healthy individuals was as fol ows special intrinsic quality,humid mass,gentleness,yin deficiency,qi quality,yang quality,qi deficiency,phlegm,blood stasis in ascending order.The ser-um level of LDL C in healthy individuals was as fol ows yin deficiency,blood stasis,qi qualitative,qi deficiency,gentleness,phlegm, humid mass,yang quality,special intrinsic quality in ascending order.Conclusion Among nine kinds of TCM constitutions,the main constitudion is the body dampness,the possibility of lipid metabolism may be high,and the susceptibility of hyperlipidemia and athero-sclerosis disease is great.The damp heat,phlegm dampness,yang deficiency nature and characteristics intrinsic quality is likely to suffer from atherosclerosis,in which characteristics intrinsic quality and phlegm dampness are more tendency to special quality than the damp heat and yang deficiency nature.Moreover,there is less probability of suffering from dyslipidemia,low form of hyperlipi-demia,atherosclerosis,low probability of disease for the yin deficiency,blood stasis,qi quality natures.
