Clinical Observation on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Treatment of Insomnia

Abstract:Objective To observe curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and acupuncture in treatment of insomnia with cerebral infarction and phlegm heat type.Methods By the sequence of the random number table method,240 the phlegm heat dis-turbance type insomnia patients with cerebral infarction,were divided into three groups:Treatment group 1 treated by Qingre Anshen decoction(QAD),treatment group 2 treated by QAD plus acupuncture,and control group treated by estazolam for 30 days.After 30 days,the total clinical efficiency and relapse rate was observed.Results The total effective rate was 94.94% in treatment group 1, 96.25% in treatment group 2,83.12%in control group.The difference of treatment group 1,treatment group 2 and control group was statistical y significant (P<0.05).The difference of treatment group 1 and treatment group 2 was not statistical y significant (P>0.05).The recurrence rate was 21.54% in treatment group 1,4.35% in treatment group 2,56.25%in control group is.The difference of treat-ment group 1,treatment group 2 and control group was statistical y significant (P<0.05).The difference of treatment group 1 and treatment group 2 was statistical y significant (P<0.01).Conclusion QAD or QAD plus acupuncture in the treatment of insomnia patients with cerebral infarction and the phlegm heat disturbance type had effect.The recurrence rate after 30 days was lower than that of estazolam.
