Effects of Xinnaoning Capsule on the Heart Rate Variability in Elderly Patients with Unstable Angina

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effects of Xinnaoning capsules on the heart rate variability(HRV)in elderly patients with un-stable angina(UA).Methods Seventy three elderly patients with UA were randomly divided into observation group(n= 36)and control group(n= 35).Al patients were treated with conventional drug therapy while patients in observation group was treated with Xinnaoning capsules.The parameters of HRV were tested before treatment and 6 months after the treatment.Results The HRV pa-rameters were significantly increased after treatment in the two groups(P<0.05),and the observation group was increased more significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion Besides the routine treatment,Xinnaoning capsules may play some important and remarkably positive roles in the improvement of HRV in elderly patients with UA.
