Clinical Observation on Acupuncture and Pricking Therapy for Treatment of Intractable Hiccups in Stroke

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture and pricking therapy on intractable hiccups in stroke.Methods Forty five patients were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups:Treatment group (n=23)treated with acupuncture and pricking therapy,and control group (n=22)treated with conventional western medicine.Results Hiccupsi improvement scores in treatment group were higher than that in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Pricking with acupuncture therapy was effective for stroke hic-cups.
