Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of atorvastatin on renal function and cardiovascular disease in hyperlipidemic patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).Methods A total of 243 patients with CKD and hyperlipidemia was randomly divided into atorv-astatin treatment group (n=120),and the control group(n=123).All patients were follow up for 2 years. The general information, blood pressure, and lipids were collected. Results In the baseline, the LDL C and HDL C were different in moderate CKD and nor-mal renal function/mild CKD.During follow up,the change in eGFR in patients with moderate CKD was not significantly(P>0.05) in those assigned to receive atorvastatin.Compared with moderate CKD,incidence of cardiovascular disease was low in normal renal function/mild CKD insufficiency (P<0.05).In the moderate CKD group pravastatin significantly could reduced CVD (P<0.05). Conclusion Risk of CVD was higher in patients with moderate CKD compared with those with normal renal function/mild CKD,and it was significantly reduced by treatment with atorvastatin.Atorvastatin also exerted slight effects on renal function in patients with moderate CKD.
