Relationship between Left Ventricular Hypertrophy and Blood Pressure Variability in Very Elderly Hypertension
Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between left ventricular hypertrophy and blood pressure variability(BPV)in very elderly hypertension. Methods Seventy seven very elderly hypertensive patients(34 males,43 females, aged ≥ 80 years old)were included.According to left ventricular mass index (LVMI)and LVH,the patients were divided into LVH groups and non LVH group.Ambulatory blood pressure parameters, blood pressure variability, and biochemical indicators were analyzed. Results SD night-time diastolic pressure in left LVH group (9.74 ±4.33)>non LVH group (6.87 ± 3.05),P<0.01.Correlation analysis showed that:r=0.294,P=0.019,P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion The very elderly hypertensive patients with LVH and nocturnal diastolic pressure SD were related with HDL C.
