Correlation of Red Cell Distribution Width Coefficient Variation and Circadian Rhythm of Blood Pressure in Very Elderly Hypertension
Abstract:Objective To study the correlation between circadian rhythm of blood pressure and red distribution width coefficient variation (RDW cv). Methods One hundred and thirty eight elderly with hypertension patients were divided into RDW cv normal group, and elevated group. The physicochemical index was compared. Then patients were divided into dipper hypertension subgroup and non dipper blood pressure subgroup,RDW cv was compared in two groups. Results The 24 hours average diastolic blood pres-sure,mean arterial pressure, nocturnal blood pressure decline rate, and HDL C in normal and abnormal RDW cv group had signifi-cant difference (P<0.05).RDW cv was higher in non dipper group than dipper group (P<0.05).The Pearson correlation analysis showed, there was significant correlation between blood pressure circadian rhythm and RDW cv (P=0.012).Multiple linear step-wise regression analysis showed:High density lipoprotein, nocturnal blood pressure decline rate was the influencing factors of RDW cv. Conclusion The blood pressure circadian rhythm and high density lipoprotein in very elderly hypertension patients correlated with RDW cv.RDW cv might be one of the risk factors in predicting the prognosis of very elderly hypertensive patients.
