Efficacy of Buyang Huanwu Decoction and Citicoline Injection in Treatment of Vascular Dementia
Abstract：Objective To observe clinical efficacy of Buyang Huanwu decoction(BHD)and citicoline injection in treatment of vas-cular dementia(VD).Methods Eighty patients with VD (MMSE score between 10 to 23 )were randomly divided into two groups:Experimental group (n=40)treated by BHD plus citicoline injection,and control group(n=40)treated by routine treatment plus ni-modipine tablets.The scales of MMSE and ADL were respectively used to assess patients’cognitive function,ability of daily living at both baseline and after 3 weeks’treatment.Results The total clinical effective rate was97.5% in experimental group,which was sig-nificantly higher than that in control group(87.5%,P <0.05).The scales of MMSE and ADL were increased after treatment in two groups,which in experimental were obviously higher than that of control group(P <0.05 or P <0.01).Conclusion BHD and citico-line injection was of obvious efficacy in treating VD,which could improve cognition and activities of daily living in patients.
