Clinical Observation on Antihypertensive Tea for Treatment of Prehypertensive Patients with Stagnated Heat of Liver Meridian Syndrome

Abstract:Objective To explore clinical effects and outcomes of antihypertensive tea in treating prehypertensive patients with stagnated heat of liver meridian syndrome,and observes its safety.Methods One hundred and fifty prehypertensive patients with stagnated heat of liver meridian syndrome were randomly divided into control group,life style intervention group and drug therapy group,50 patients in each group.Based on life style intervention,drug therapy group were added Chinese medicine of antihypertensive tea.Therapy effects and clinical outcome of three groups were observed.Results For traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome, compared with control group,significant efficiency,effective rate and total effective rate in life style intervention group and drug thera-py group were obviously higher than control group,while inefficiency,increase ratio were lower than control group,and had significant meaning among three groups(P <0.05 ).Compared with life style intervention group,effective rate and total effective rate in drug therapy group were obviously higher,while inefficiency,increase ratio were lower,and has significant differences between two groups (P <0.05).For clinical outcome,compared with control group,the ratio of life style intervention group and drug therapy group devel-oped to hypertension was lower than control group,while the ratio of obtained to satisfied blood press was obviously increase,and had significant differences among three groups(P <0.05).Compared with life style intervention group,the ratio of life drug therapy group developed to hypertension was lower than life style intervention,but no significant meaning between two groups,while there was obvi-ous differences in ratio of obtained to satisfied blood press between two groups(P <0.05 ).There was no side effect occurred after treatment.Conclusion Antihypertensive tea based on life style intervention can obviously improve TCM syndrome of prehypertens-ive patients with stagnated heat of liver meridian syndrome,and delay the progress for hypertension.
