Effect of Yiqihuoxue Decoction on Expression of Collagen after Carotid Artery Balloon Injury in Rats
Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of Yiqihuoxue decoction on expression of collagen Ⅰ,collagen Ⅲ and matrix metal-loproteinase- 2 (MMP2)after carotid artery vascular injury in rats. Methods Forty - eight rats were randomly divided into four groups: Control group, model group, Yiqihuoxue decoction low dose group and Yiqihuoxue decoction high dose group. The balloon catheter of 2F Fogarty was performed on the left common carotid artery. The expression of the MMP2 was observed at 5th and 28th day, and the expression of collagen Ⅰ ,collagen Ⅲ were observed at 28th day after injury by immunohistochemical technique. Results Compared with control group,the expression of collagen Ⅰ ,collagen Ⅲ and MMP2 were increased significantly in model group. Com-pared with model group,the expression of collagen Ⅰ, collagen Ⅲ and MMP2 were decreased significantly in Yiqihuoxue decoction low dose group and Yiqihuoxue decoction high dose group(P<0.01). There was no statistical significance in Yiqihuoxue decoction low dose group and Yiqihuoxue decoction high dose group(P>0.05). Conclusion Yiqihuoxue decoction could decrease the vascular proliferation after balloon injury, which might be associated with inhibiting the proliferation of extracellular matrix and vascular smooth muscle cell through reducing the expression of collagen Ⅰ,collagen Ⅲ and MMP2.
