Clinical Study on Awaking Function of Balance Acupuncture for Severe Head Injury after Surgery
Abstract:Objective To study the feasibility of awaking function of balance acupuncture for severe head injury after surgery. Methods Thirty coma patients(pts) with severe head injury after surgery were divided into two groups:Control group(n=15)treated by routine treatment and treatment group(n= 15)treated by balance acupuncture with routine treatment. All pts were evaluated by Glasgow coma scale(GCS) following treatment for 10 days,20 days, and 30 days. Results After treatment for 10 days, there was sig-nificant difference in GCS score in treatment groups compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), while there was no significant difference in GCS score in control group (P>0.05). After treatment for 30 days, there was significant difference in GCS score in two groups(P<0.05). Conclusion Balance acupuncture therapy had awaking function on coma pts with severe head injury after surgery.
