Research Progress of Kaixin Powder in Treating Brain Diseases

Abstract：Kaixin Powder is a traditional Chinese medicine prescription first recorded in"Jiyan Fang",composed of Yuanzhi,Ginseng,Acorus tatarinowii,and Poria cocos.It possesses effects such as nourishing the heart and opening orifices,strengthening the spleen and calming the mind,and communicating the heart and kidney.Clinically,it is used to treat symptoms such as forgetfulness,sorrow,palpitations,fear,and timidity.Recent studies have shown that Kaixin Powder has significant effects in treating brain diseases,including Alzheimer's disease,vascular dementia,depression,anxiety,and sleep disorders.This article reviews the clinical applications and mechanisms of action of Kaixin Powder in the treatment of brain diseases,including neuroprotection,improvement of monoamine neurotransmitter systems,regulation of neurotrophic factors,modulation of the cholinergic system,melatonin system,impact on the HPA axis and activation of the PI3K signaling pathway,antioxidant stress effects,and inhibition of inflammatory factor expression.These studies provide a scientific basis for further research on Kaixin Powder in the field of brain disease treatment.Future research should expand the clinical application range of Kaixin Powder and explore its mechanisms of action in depth to optimize its clinical use and provide new insights for the treatment of brain diseases.
