Abstract:The crown gear coupling,as a removable rigid coupling, plays a significant role in mechanical transmission systems. The pressure angle is a crucial parameter that determines the tooth profile shape and af-fects the tooth surface load capacity of crown gears. To investigate the relationship between the pressure angle and the load capacity of couplings gear surface, through finite element simulation analysis, the four groups tooth surface equivalent stress were obtained between single-tooth and full-tooth engagement under angle-misaligned,and analyzed the influence of pressure angle on tooth surface bearing performance and contact tooth number un-der different clearances. The research results show that the influence of pressure angle on the load-bearing capacity of tooth surface under misalignment conditions is higher than that under ideal alignment, and the num-ber of contact teeth show an upward trend overall with the increase of pressure angle. The clearance and pres-sure angle both affect the load-bearing performance of the tooth surface. When there is a clearance, the load-bearing performance of the tooth surface first increases and then decreases with the increase of pressure angle. However, when there is no clearance, the larger the pressure angle, the better the load-bearing performance of the tooth surface.
