Finite element analysis for the frame of carbon extrusion press

Abstract：Based on the construction features of the frame of carbon extrusion press , a finite element model has been established by using large-scale finite element analysis software I-DEAS, and the structural stress and dis-placement of the frame under all sorts of loads have been analyzed .On the basis of the selected point of maxi-mum stress, resistance strain gauge method used for determining main stress value of the frame .The results in-dicate that analysis and calculation by using I-DEAS software is relatively accurate , the finite element model and the analysis method are appropriate .The structural design of the frame is reasonable .
